John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978) introduced horror fans to the escaped masked killer Michael Myers and the teenage babysitter Laurie Strode (yes, Jamie Lee Curtis) who would become his arch-nemesis for 40+ years. Thirteen total Halloween movies can be grouped into five different timelines, so there’s not a lot you can say for sure about what happens in this franchise other than one of the best horror villains spends a lot of time killing pretty much everyone he encounters in small-town Illinois. Granted, the kills are pretty awesome, which is all you could really ask for from a great slasher.

If you want to re-watch the movies as part of your spooky festivities, here’s where to stream every Halloween movie online right now.

Where to Watch the Halloween Movies Online

7 Days Free AMC+ Free Trial

If you’re trying to binge the Halloween movies, I have good news and… complicated news. The good news is you can stream John Carpenter’s original Halloween movie for free on Xumo Play.

Here’s the complicated news: All of the “original” Halloween movies (1978-2002) are available to stream on AMC+ right now. For horror fans, AMC+ is technically a streaming bundle that includes all of the Shudder streaming library.

Unfortunately, most of those movies are leaving AMC+ after October 31. The Halloween movies streaming on Shudder will still be available, but the Halloween movies that are also streaming on Paramount+ or Peacock will leave AMC+ at the start of November to become Paramount+ or Peacock exclusives. So, really, Halloween (the day) is your last chance to marathon all of Halloween (the movie franchise) in a single place.

Meanwhile, the Blumhouse Halloween trilogy has always been spread out, with the 2018 reboot on Netflix, the sequel on Peacock, and Halloween Ends on Starz. That’s movie licensing for you.

Halloween Movies on Blu-ray

Most of the Halloween movies are available on Blu-ray, and the 1978 original has even been remastered on 4K (now available as a pricey Collector’s Edition). There’s also collected Halloween Blu-ray sets that, like everything else with this franchise, are split across different timelines. Take your pick of the late ’90s Halloween movies or the Blumhouse reboot trilogy.

Will There Be More Halloween Movies?

Halloween is never really over, is it? While Halloween Ends was billed as the “real” final chapter to the Halloween saga, this is one franchise that will probably rise from the dead sooner or later. Nothing official has been announced, but Bloody Disgusting last reported in 2023 that the current Halloween license holders were looking into potential TV deals.
