T.J. Holmes Is a ‘Happy and Healthy Dad’ While Dating Amy Robach

T.J. Holmes revealed how his relationship with girlfriend Amy Robach changed him as a father — for the better.
“Sabine is getting [the] benefit of a happy and healthy daddy that she didn’t have before you and I were in a relationship,” Holmes, 47, told Robach, 51, during the Monday, October 28, episode of their “Amy and T.J.” podcast.
Holmes clarified that his 11-year-old daughter Sabine seeing him “in a happy and healthy relationship” isn’t a slight at anyone, adding, “Now, that’s not an indictment of anything else or anybody else or anywhere else or anything. But where I was — and to get right and to get healthy — has now been a great benefit to Sabine.”
The former Good Morning America host went on to explain how getting to a better place emotionally has ultimately benefited the bond he shares with his daughter.

“It shows up. The results are there with her. She is just incredible right now,” he added. “So, yeah, I love who I am [right now].”
Holmes shares Sabine with ex-wife Marilee Fiebig. The former couple tied the knot in 2010 following his divorce from first wife Amy Ferson. (Holmes also shares daughter Brianna and son Jaiden with Ferson.)
Before he started dating Robach, Holmes praised Fiebig, 46, for standing by him through thick and thin.
“That’s not hyperbole. I’m not being dramatic. I gave her plenty of reasons, excuses, and opportunities to walk her fine ass out the doooooooor. But instead, with her built-in black woman superpower, she showed a grace and patience that’s incomprehensible,” he wrote via Facebook in 2020. “Asking her for another 10 years would be asking too much. Another 10 months? That may even be a stretch. If she gave me another 10 weeks, I should consider myself lucky. If she puts up with me another 10 days, I’d be grateful.”

He concluded: “But if she would even spare another 10 minutes of her time for me today, I should consider myself blessed. This is MARILEE FIEBIG HOLMES, y’all. And I, T. J. Holmes, do solemnly swear … that I …. was HER #decadechallenge.”
In November 2022, Holmes made headlines after he was seen getting cozy with Robach outside of the office despite them being married to other people. Holmes filed for divorce from Fiebig that same month, while Robach ended her marriage to Andrew Shue, whom she married in 2010.
“To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship, but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterers — being outed as cheating on our spouses — and it wasn’t the case because the odd thing is, the day those pictures were taken and the day that article was released, we both at that point were in divorce proceedings,” Holmes said during the debut episode of his and Robach’s podcast in December 2023.

Holmes and Robach discussed making amends with their kids after their relationship became such a major topic of public conversation. Robach shares daughters Ava, 21, and Annalise, 17, with ex-husband Tim McIntosh.
“As tough as it has been for so many people in our lives, it’s the most difficult for [our kids], because now they’re having to look at us in a different way with one another,” Robach said on a December 2023 episode.
Holmes gushed about the bond Sabine has formed with Robach, too, adding, “My little one has known Robach since she was 1 and now she’s knowing Robach in a different way in a different role, but it’s been the greatest. I’m always just open. ‘Robach is here, we’re hanging, do you want to do this?’”
He continued: “The past few months she has volunteered. ‘Robach is there, can I come by? You and Robach are doing what? Can I get a piece of that?’ Like, voluntarily. It’s really been one of the most touching things recently to see how she wants to be a part and included and enjoys the time with us.”
