For this week only, Best Buy is offering the sleek HP Omen Transcend 14 RTX 4060 gaming laptop for $1199.99 after a $500 instant discount. The Omen Transcend 14 is HP’s newest gaming laptop that was released in January 2024. It is lighter and thinner than the standard Omen, weighing in at only 3.6 pounds and measuring 0.71″ thick, and it features better build quality and materials like a premium aluminum chassis and a gorgeous OLED display. It’s a great option for anyone who wants a slim and easily portable laptop while still being able to play games on the side.

HP OMEN Transcend 14 RTX 4060 Laptop for $1299.99

This laptop features a 14″ 2880×1800 OLED display, Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, GeForce RTX 4060 GPU, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 155H is a Meteor Lake CPU with a turbo clock speed of 4.8GHz with 16 cores, 22 threads, and a 24MB cache. This is a power efficient, low voltage CPU with a TDP of 28W that’s comparable in performance to the Intel Core i7-1360P or the AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS.

The low voltage CPU is also paired with a reduced voltage GeForce RTX 4060 mobile GPU. The GPU has a TGP rating of 50W (+15W Dynamic Boost), which is lower than other RTX 4060 laptops that can have a TGP rating as high as 115W. That means you’re going to compromise on gaming performance, but you’ll also get a cooler running laptop that has a longer battery life. Although the display sports a very high 2.8K resolution, we’d strongly recommend dropping it down to 1080p and enabling DLSS while gaming in order to hit a consistent 60fps frame rate in most games.

If you’re looking for other slim gaming alternatives, right now Dell is hosting a pretty good end-of-October sale that includes some of the better Alienware deals we’ve seen this year on high-quality gaming laptops. The Alienware x14 R2, for example, is another great option since it’s currently on sale for $999.99. It is equipped with an RTX 4050 GPU that is actually nearly as powerful as the Transcend’s 4060 thanks to a higher TGP rating. You do lose out on the sweet OLED display, though. If you’re looking for a laptop that can handle more demanding gaming, the Alienware m16 R2 is equipped with a much more capable RTX 4060 GPU with a TGP rating of 115 (+25W Dynamic Boost).
