Kate Beckinsale Shares Photos of Stunt Work Injuries
Kate Beckinsale is not one to shy away from doing many of her own stunts.
The actress, 51, shocked fans on Saturday, October 26, by posting multiple photos of injuries she endured from doing her own stunts on the set of her new film via her Instagram Story Each snap showed off a different injury, with the first showing the Underworld actress wearing a brace around her rips. Other photos showed various bruises and cuts on her arms, hands, fingers, knees and elbows.
The actress stars in Canary Black, which dropped on Prime Video on Thursday, October 24. The thriller finds Beckinsale playing Avery Graves, a CIA operative whose husband is kidnapped by terrorists. In order to save her husband she is tasked with betraying her own country.
Additionally, the actress posted a screenshot of The Guardian’s review of her film via her Instagram feed, along with some videos of her doing stunt work, including climbing up a wall backwards with the use of a harness.
“Kicking impeccably chic ass 🩷and a couple of close ups doesn’t half hurt lol,” Beckinsale captioned her post.
Back in March, Beckinsale announced that she was in the hospital — but didn’t clue her followers in as to why she was there.
Beckinsale shared a photo of herself in a hospital bed via Instagram on March 11, which she posted while celebrating her mother’s birthday and UK Mother’s Day.
“Happy birthday and UK Mother’s Day this last week to my incredible mother,” she captioned her post. “Thank you to those that love us and support us when it’s sh– and try to make sure there are some bits that aren’t. And for looking after our dogs when we can’t.”
Beckinsale continued, “…and lead us to remember happy things when we can’t . And turn up when we are sick and sit with us . . And send balloons and check in and pull us out of wells with love.”
This year saw multiple tribulations for Beckinsale, with the death of her stepfather, Roy Battersby, at age 87 on January 10, 2024.
Beckinsale also made headlines back in July when Britney Spears took to Instagram to defend the actress against online trolls.
”I adore Kate Beckinsale especially because she’s from London 🇬🇧!!! I realized how incredibly cruel people were talking about her IG saying she needs more age appropriate content,” wrote Spears. “She’s in her 50s and I thought it was pretty badass how she responded with a mini bow in her hair looking literally 4 years old.”
