Julianne Hough Says She’s ‘Looking for a Guy’ After Saucy DWTS Routine
Julianne Hough is looking for love in all the places.
Hough, 36, joked about her single status after performing a saucy routine to the viral TikTok song “Man In Finance” during the Tuesday, November 19, episode of Dancing With the Stars.
“Great to see you out on the floor with the guys,” Hough’s cohost, Alfonso Ribeiro, said after she took the stage with DWTS pros including Sasha Farber, Val Chmerkovskiy and Pasha Pashkov.
“Yeah, the guys. Well, you know, I am single and I’m looking for a guy anywhere I can find one,” Hough replied.
Ribeiro, 53, then quipped that viewers watching at home could shoot their shot with Hough the same way they vote for their favorite contestants.
“If you’d like a date, text Julianne’s first name. Message and data rates may apply,” he said.
“That won’t work, please don’t do that,” Hough said, smiling.
The former DWTS pro’s surprise performance came after she interviewed Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold about their second dance of the night.
“Seeing all these amazing dances and dancers out there all season long reminds me of when I was a pro back in the day,” she said. “And oh, my gosh, I wish I could just get out there and dance sometimes. In fact, why don’t we do that? Right now. Stephen, can you hold this?”
Hough then handed her microphone to Nedoroscik, 26, and ripped off her dress to reveal silver fringed pants and a matching sparkly bra underneath. The contestants and pros standing behind her all looked stunned as she danced down a staircase where several men from the DWTS pro lineup were waiting for her dressed in ties, vests, dress pants and dress shirts.
The business attire nodded to the lyrics of “Man in Finance,” a satirical song written by TikToker Megan Boni, or Girl On Couch. Billen Ted and David Guetta’s contributions later turned the tune into the remixed version heard on DWTS.
“I’m looking for a man in finance / Trust fund, 6’5, blue eyes,” Boni says in a hypnotic monotone voice on the track.
Hough’s performance comes after she shared that she thinks she is “going to end up with a man” during a September appearance on the “Jamie Kern Lima Show” podcast.
“I want to be living and vibrating in the pace of my most authentic self [and] for that to be what attracts whoever it is, versus I’m gonna put what I think I want and need out there and then literally force-create it,” she said, adding that she wants to “build a life with somebody and have a family.”
Hough previously came out as “not straight” in a September 2019 profile for Women’s Health when she was still married to Brooks Laich. (Hough filed for divorce in 2020 after three years of marriage, and the exes finalized their split in 2022.)
“I [told Brooks], ‘You know I’m not straight, right?’ And he was like, ‘I’m sorry, what?’ I was like, ‘I’m not. But I choose to be with you,’” the dancer said at the time.
Hough spoke more about her sexuality during an August conversation with Jamie Kern.
“Coming out is one of the most vulnerable and empowering things that you can do. … I think for me it was very much, like, it’s not about being straight or gay or bi or queer,” she explained. “It’s more about, I think I’m just learning what love is, and I love people.”
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. You can stream episodes on Disney+ the next day.
