AU Deals: A New All-time Low for Star Wars Outlaws, Super Cheap Mario RPG, and 75 Bucks off NBA 2K25! – IGN
Thank your own personal deity—possibly trickster God Sun Wukong—it’s Friday! As per always, I’m going to get your weekend started right with a bunch of price slashes. If I don’t see you, stay safe, save often, and catch you Monday!
In retro news, I’m celebrating the 21st birthday of Outrun 2, the closest Sega got to arcade racer perfection. Essentially, the essence of the 1986 original—going flat out in a Ferrari with some rad tunes on your radio, a romantic prospect riding shotgun, and branching scenery whipping past—was modernised with a new emphasis on sublime drifting and six more prancing ponies in your stable. My mates and I spent a ludicrous amount of coins in the multiplayer-linked cabinets of this. It’s a sin that the ports and sequels of this have been delisted everywhere.

Super Mario RPG

Super Mario RPG is considered a classic for a reason, and this wonderfully faithful remake makes it easy for anyone who missed it in the SNES era to see why. 8/10, great.

SteelSeries Rival 3

For $29.99, the Rival 3 is an amazing value. Despite a few on-paper trade-offs, I was never able to feel them in-game and was able to play at my peak. If you’re on a budget, the Rival 3 is an outstanding option.

Star Wars Outlaws

Star Wars Outlaws is a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration, but it’s hindered by simple stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch (which have mostly been sorted since).

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is a final flash from the past, sometimes to a fault, but the feeling of traveling back to a simpler time when games didn’t have to be balanced or competitive to be fun is still a good one.

This holiday season, I’m doing something different with the LEGO section. In Mathew Manor, my sons and I are racing LEGO Advent Calendars—we open our respective ones daily and compare the mini-prizes for “Coolness” and “Actual Xmas-ness”. Winner gets extra eggnog.
If you’re also feeling festive, here are the cheapest prices for the three calendars we’re using. Or just live vicariously through us.
