Angel Reese Tells La La Anthony’s Son Kiyan to Make Girls Sign NDAs
Kiyan Anthony, the only child of Carmelo and La La Anthony, received some very particular advice on how to handle the college experience from his “sis” Angel Reese.
On the Thursday, October 31 episode of her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast, the WNBA star, 22, told Kiyan, 17, “You need to be careful.”
“Even when you’re in college, you need to be careful with these women,” Angel explained. “For real. One slip up. You be seeing these stories?”
Kiyan, a highly-touted high school basketball recruit, has narrowed his choice down to three schools — Auburn, USC and Syracuse, his dad’s alma mater — and he told Angel he expects to make his decision in the next two weeks.
In addition to some wise words from Angel — who began her college career at Maryland before transferring to LSU, where she won a national championship in 2023 — Kiyan said he’s also been receiving relationship advice from his parents, who divorced in 2021 after 7 years of marriage.
“With girls and stuff, they be telling me, like, ‘You gotta chill,’” Kiyan said.
Once he arrives on campus, Kiyan told Angel that he plans on keeping a small circle and hosting parties at his house — but Angel warned of those potential dangers, too.
“You can’t be having anybody over there,” she told Kiyan. “And you tell them girls to drop their phone at the door.”’
Angel added, “You’re gonna have to start making people sign NDAs.”
Having already been through the experience of being a collegiate athlete herself, Angel acknowledged the step might seem extreme, but deemed it necessary.
“It’s hard to tell somebody that, but if they don’t respect that, they gotta [leave],” she said.
As for allowing new friends into his home, Angel told him, “Just make sure nobody recording.”
On the topic of Kiyan’s love life, Angel asked about the influence of his mother and how much weight he gives to her opinion.
“She knows, she’s been through it all,” Kiyan gushed. “If she sees something that I don’t and she’s like, ‘You gotta stop talking to them,’ I’d be like, ‘Alright.’ There’s always another someone somewhere.”
Kiyan added, “She be telling me like, ‘You gotta watch out.’”
Listed as the No. 28 recruit in the nation by 247Sports, Kiyan is currently a senior at Long Island Lutheran High School in Glen Head, New York.
When it comes to his eventual college decision, Kiyan told Angel it will all come down to “where I can go in right away and see growth and where I can develop my game and just try to win.”
